Newest Commission Piece

I finally have my newest commissioned piece finished. There were so many little details in this painting, which made it take much longer than normal, but I think it was worth it. I hope they enjoy it. I’m still in the process of finishing up the timelapse video, and once I have that completed, I’ll give you that as well.

I love creating surrealism and the fire and water were particularly fun to create. I even got to create my oen leaf brush for this painting so I didn’t have to constantly paint leaves over and over. I’m glad I got to include a hard light layer, which is always my favorite part of my painting process.

If you haven’t heard yet, I have an art show coming up this June 20th and I would love to have all of your support! There are two different ways you can do that. If you can make it to the event, just buy a ticket for the night here. If you can’t, I understand. Not everyone lives in Seattle, and for the rest of you, I set up a GoFundMe just for that. You should also know that anyone who either buys a ticket or donates on my GoFundMe page will receive a signed thank you postcard with one of my art pieces on it. So make sure to plan to do that soon!

Thank you all for being great supporters of my work! I’m grateful for all of you! I hope to have some more updates for you soon. Let me know what your favorite part of this painting is down in the comments, and I’ll talk to you next time!

Wedding Commission

This was a commissioned painting that I did for my sister.  It was such a cute photo and I was so happy to do this for her.  The color pallet is a little different than what I normally do, but it’s what she chose, and I think it turned out beautifully.  It has a very soft and sweet feel to it.

Elizabeth Roy FINAL(c)

In order to keep my colors correct, I started with a monotone black and white painting, and then glazed color over it.  I actually enjoyed this method of painting better than what I had been doing.  So this was very good for me to do.

I hope she enjoys the painting.  I enjoyed painting it.  I love you sis!
